The idea of the Muslim Women Network was started by the ladies of Dua Nudbe group in Southern California.
By September 2013, the organization was formed to address the needs of the community.
The founder moved to Maryland, and noticed that many members of the community feel unsupported, unconnected, and scattered.
The Muslim Women Network of Washington DC metropolitan area was formed and became an ear to the concerns of the community and a support system for its members.
WHO WE ARE
We are a grassroots community-based organization.
We are a non-profit, all-volunteer, and independent community support organization.
Our organization is dedicated to addressing the needs of the community and providing a base, a place for getting help and support.
We pride ourselves on being a community support organization serving the need of not just the Muslim community, but also extending a helping hand to other communities, and anyone who shares the globe with us.
We are strictly a social, family, and community support organization, and not a political organization.
We are a dynamic Muslim American community that contributes to society through following the
beautiful prophetic tradition of hard work, charity, and love.
We believe in championing strong families with empowered women of faith, for the benefit of all.
We are also a forum where members can address concerns of the community, while nurturing
the creativity and talent of all.
Our vision is to create a strong support system for Muslim women, dedicated to sharing
resources and ideas to help one another.
Foster a greater sense of community and unity between all the members of the community, regardless of any differences we may have.
Cultivate capacities and mobilize their abilities to address the needs of the community.
Increase financial strength of the community by promoting and supporting businesses within our community.
Nurture creativity & talent to shape an inspirational community.
Extending a helping hand to the people outside of our community.
